About this directory

The complete certified universe, plus continuously growing discovered coverage.

What this is

A public directory of the companies that collect, transport, wipe, refurbish, recycle and refine electronic waste and retired IT assets. It exists because the sector has no single place to look: certification registries each publish their own list, in their own format, with no cross reference between them and no way to filter by what a company actually does.

Everything here is read only and free. There are no accounts, no logins, and no profile on this site belongs to anyone yet.

What coverage this claims

Atlas lists every facility published by the certification registries it tracks, and adds significant uncertified operators as research confirms them. It does not claim to list every business in the sector, because no registry publishes that total.

That distinction matters more than it might look. A directory that implies completeness it cannot support is worse than useless for procurement, because absence starts to read as evidence. So the claim is bounded: complete for the registries tracked, growing for everything else, and the current figures are stated rather than rounded into adjectives.

Where the data comes from

Every record is collected from public certification registries. Registries are fetched at one request per second with an identifying user agent, and every response is stored as an immutable snapshot with its own checksum, so any published field can be traced back to the exact bytes it came from.

  • R2: 3,027 certificates, 1,035 companies currently certified
  • e-Stewards: 45 certificates, 45 companies currently certified
  • NAID AAA: 901 certificates, 452 companies currently certified
  • RIOS: 257 certificates, 191 companies currently certified

The most recent publication ran on 13 October 2026.

How you can check any of it

Every published field carries the source it came from, the date it was retrieved, and a confidence level. Where a source says nothing, this page says nothing.

Every profile carries a sources block listing each published field, the registry it came from, the date it was retrieved, the method, and a confidence level. There are currently 28,563 such citations behind this site. Nothing is published without one.

Two consequences worth stating plainly. Data that has not been researched is shown as missing rather than filled with a plausible guess. And where a source states something negative, such as a certificate being withdrawn or an appendix explicitly not certified, that is reported as the fact it is. The directory never asserts that a company is non-compliant; it reports what a registry says and when it said it.

Participant roles

Participant roles describe what a company does in the chain. Each role on a profile shows the evidence and confidence behind it. Browse the participant roles.

1,169 companies have not been assessed against the participant roles yet. They are on the research backlog rather than missing.

Industry verticals are not published yet. The vocabulary is being decided with the client, and filling the field with plausible categories would put guesses next to sourced facts.

Getting something corrected or removed

Every profile has a correction link in its footer. No account is needed. A person checks each request against the source before anything changes, and where the source itself is wrong the correction goes upstream to the registry as well.

Removal requests are handled the same way. If a record concerns you and you want it taken down, say so through the same form and it will be reviewed.

What is coming

Profile claiming, direct inquiries, and a verification programme are all in development and none of them are open. Where you see a Coming soon label on this site it is exactly that: an explanation, with nothing behind it collecting your details.

If you run one of these companies, this page explains what is planned.
