Refurbishers and remarketers

Changes the condition or configuration of used equipment so that it can be sold again as working product: diagnosis, repair, part replacement, reconfiguration, cosmetic restoration, firmware and imaging, functional testing and grading, then sale or return to the owner's channel.

How this role is defined
Qualifying activities
bench repair and component-level or module-level replacement; reconfiguration to a different specification; cleaning and cosmetic restoration to a published grade; test and certify to a stated standard; warranty issued on the refurbished unit.
Does not qualify alone
selling used equipment in the condition received; testing or grading performed for other parties as a service; keeping an installed base running for the current owner.
Boundary vs C04
C03 changes the device, C04 does not.
Boundary vs C11
C11 repairs equipment that stays with its current owner in production; C03 repairs to put a device back on the market.
Boundary vs E07
E07 sells the test or grade as the deliverable; C03 uses testing internally to support its own sale.
B2B scope
business-to-business only. Activity sold to individual consumers or households never supports this role; a company serving both is admitted on its business-facing evidence alone, with the consumer channel recorded as an attribute of the company, never as grounds for a role.
