Participant role
Collection and aggregation
Collects end-of-life electronics from many business generators that are individually too small to interest a processor (small and medium business, branch and retail networks, professional practices, commercial landlords and their tenants, and comparable commercial sites) and consolidates them into loads large enough for a downstream processor to accept. The company adds volume and sortation, not treatment.
How this role is defined
- Qualifying activities
- scheduled or on-call pick-up from multiple unaffiliated business generators; commercial drop-off or transfer sites serving trade customers; consolidation, bulking and load-building; basic sorting by stream for onward shipment; running a branch-network or franchise collection programme for a corporate client.
- Does not qualify alone
- hauling a single customer's load under another firm's contract; refurbishing or recycling what is collected.
- Boundary vs E01
- E01 moves a consignment that already exists; C02 assembles a load from many sources.
- Boundary vs C05
- once the company shreds, dismantles for material recovery or refurbishes what it collected, it also holds C05 or C03, and C02 remains only while it still aggregates third-party material.
- B2B scope
- business-to-business only. Activity sold to individual consumers or households never supports this role; a company serving both is admitted on its business-facing evidence alone, with the consumer channel recorded as an attribute of the company, never as grounds for a role.
