Participant role

OEM take-back and trade-in partners

Delivers part of a manufacturer's commercial take-back, trade-in or asset-recovery programme under that manufacturer's brand, standards and contract: collecting, grading, valuing, refurbishing or recycling equipment that arrives through the OEM's business channel. The role describes the PARTNER, never the manufacturer.

How this role is defined
Qualifying activities
named authorisation by a manufacturer to operate take-back, trade-in, buy-back or asset recovery for the manufacturer's business, enterprise or channel customers; operating under OEM grading and data-handling standards; issuing trade-in values or credits within the OEM's commercial programme.
Does not qualify alone
selling OEM-branded refurbished stock without authorisation; being an OEM reseller or channel partner for new product; running an unaffiliated trade-in programme; operating the consumer side of an OEM take-back scheme.
Boundary
this is a relationship-derived role, so the underlying handling work is almost always also C01, C03 or C05.
B2B scope
business-to-business only. Activity sold to individual consumers or households never supports this role; a company serving both is admitted on its business-facing evidence alone, with the consumer channel recorded as an attribute of the company, never as grounds for a role.
