Participant role
Data-centre decommissioning and de-install contractors
Performs the physical retirement of IT estate on the client's own premises: power-down sequencing, de-cabling, de-racking, rack and cabinet removal, labelling and inventory capture, palletising, packing and preparation for shipment, and making good the space. The work is skilled, physical and scheduled, and it happens under the generator's roof.
How this role is defined
- Qualifying activities
- on-site decommissioning projects; de-rack and de-cable crews; asset capture and labelling during de-install; crating, palletising and load preparation; floor clearance and site restoration.
- Does not qualify alone
- taking the assets away to its own facility; installing new equipment; transporting the packed load.
- Boundary vs E15
- same skills, opposite direction of travel. E03 retires, E15 deploys.
- Boundary vs C01
- the discriminator is whose premises the work happens on.
- B2B scope
- business-to-business only. Activity sold to individual consumers or households never supports this role; a company serving both is admitted on its business-facing evidence alone, with the consumer channel recorded as an attribute of the company, never as grounds for a role.
