Participant role
IT deployment and installation contractors
Installs new or redeployed IT estate at client sites: racking and stacking, structured cabling, power and connectivity, staging and configuration, imaging and roll-out, site surveys and smart-hands support. The forward-logistics mirror of E03, using the same crews and skills in the opposite direction.
How this role is defined
- Qualifying activities
- on-site installation and commissioning of IT hardware; rack build and cabling; multi-site roll-out and refresh delivery; staging and kitting ahead of deployment.
- Does not qualify alone
- decommissioning, which is E03; maintaining installed equipment, which is C11; supplying the hardware, which is C04.
- Boundary vs E03
- the direction of travel decides it. A single contractor doing both holds both roles.
- Boundary vs C11
- deployment is a project; maintenance is an ongoing obligation.
- B2B scope
- business-to-business only. Activity sold to individual consumers or households never supports this role; a company serving both is admitted on its business-facing evidence alone, with the consumer channel recorded as an attribute of the company, never as grounds for a role.
